Kinder

The Kinder Care Chair is the result of 24 months of intensive research and development
at the Sue Ryder Center in Stagenhoe, Hertfordshire. 4 chairs weretrialed and
tested to destruction by a range of residents who live with various complex
neurological conditions among them Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis,
Parkinson's disease, brain injury and stroke. After 36 revisions and 24 months of
feedback, the result was an indestructible Neurological Care chair that can seat
anybody regardless of their Neurological condition and provide incredible levels
of comfort, dignity and care.

The Kinder Air Chair is designed to accommodate a persons seating position. It is not
meant to correct a person’s posture. The patented construction and innovative
Thoracic back rest provides safe and comfortable seating. The chair comes with 3
independent actuators for Back Rest, Leg Rest and Tilt in Space adjustability.
The Chair is aesthetically pleasing, and can be styled in a range of fabrics according
to your own specific taste. The Chair is ideal for care givers as it’s is easy to operate,
easy to push, hoist friendly and has no entrapment areas. It can be moved in the tilt
position without risk to the care givers back, ideal for returning sleeping people from
the day room back to their own room. It’s designed to go through narrow doorways without
risk of injury to the care giver or damage to the chair or door frame. The Chair is

of the most challenging of neurological conditions to seat correctly. Issues such as
positioning, posture, behavior patterns, comfort, pressure relief, skin shearing from
sporadic movements, feeding, cleaning, toileting, care plans, care giver use, build
quality, transportation, safety from excessive movement, and acute changes in the
condition of the client, add to the complexity of finding a physiologically optimal
seating solution. A joint Assessment with our own seating experts and an Occupational
Therapist / Physio Therapist is often the best way to start.

After hundreds of such assessments, we have learned many specialist methods to enable
us to seat someone with Huntington’s (from early stages through to more advanced stages)
and for a wide variety of other Neurological Conditions. The techniques we use will
improve the seating quality for our clients by providing a comfortable, safe and
supportive solution to accommodate their seating needs and thus, more importantly improve
their quality of life. The chair can be adapted and readapted to each individual’s
specific requirements. The Kinder AIR Chair has no limits design wise. It’s built to last
and grow with the person. If you would like to have a free seating assessment we can help!
